It’s not uncommon for a solo traveler to feel lonely sometimes. However, there are many ways to make new friends in Sydney and have a great time exploring the city together.

One of the best ways to meet new people is to join a dragonboat team. Not only is it a great way to stay active, but it’s also an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals.

Join a Dragon Boat Team

Dragon boat racing is a popular water sport that has existed for centuries. It involves a team of paddlers, a drummer, and a steerer racing a long, narrow boat.

There are plenty of dragon boat teams in Sydney, and the first three sessions are usually free, so you can get a feel for the sport and the people on the team. Once you’ve chosen a team, you have 20-40 instant friends.

Attend Meetup Groups

Attending a meetup group is a great way to meet new people who share your interests. You can also join multiple groups to increase your chances of meeting new friends.

Take a Class

Taking a class is another great way to meet new people. Whether it’s a cooking, dance, or art class, you’ll be surrounded by people who share your passion.

Not only will you learn a new skill, but you’ll also have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals. Taking a class is also a great way to break out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Volunteering is also a great way to learn new skills and gain experience, which can benefit your career.

Join a Sports Team

Joining a sports team is another great way to meet new people and stay active. Whether it’s soccer, basketball, or tennis, many sports teams in Sydney always look for new members. Joining a sports team is also a great way to improve your skills and compete against other teams.
